Ruth Bash was named chief human resources officer at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. She will oversee all human resources functions in this role.
In her hiring announcement, SBMC President and CEO Richard Davis noted that Bash is “a seasoned Human Resources professional with over 25 years of management experience in health care and the nonprofit sector,” and said that “she is knowledgeable and passionate about building organizational culture.”
“We are fortunate to have her joining our executive team,” he said.
Bash was most recently vice president and chief culture officer at Children’s Specialized Hospital, where she worked since 2014. While at CSH, she had oversight responsibility for all HR functions, marketing and communications, patient experience, family-centered care and volunteers.
She also led operational and strategic initiatives for the organization, developing workforce development programs and working with the entire CSH team to create and sustain a supportive culture, according to her SBMC hiring announcement. Additionally, she managed an interdisciplinary steering committee that developed education and programs to raise awareness and foster a workplace environment of inclusion and respect.
Prior to her time at CSH, Bash was assistant vice president and chief of staff at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
